I have been given a place at "Cranfield Church of England Academy", but which of your two school sites will my child go to?

Congratulations! We look forward to welcoming you and your child to our school and our Headteacher, Mr Piatczanyn, will be in touch in due course to confirm which site your child will attend. Places will be allocated against the priority areas as pictured in the Academy's Admissions Policy. In the case of there being too many children than one site can accommodate, the other site will be allocated. Saint Peter's Site is able to accommodate 60 children and Saint Paul's Site accommodates 30 children.

I would prefer my child to go to the site that we are not priority for:

If you would like your child to go to a site that is not your 'priority' site (the one you live closest to), you need to write to the Headteacher urgently explaining why you would prefer the alternative site. This will be taken into consideration, however, the Headteacher's decision is final.

I am on the waiting list for a place at Cranfield Church of England Academy:

In the unfortunate circumstance that you have not been offered a place at Cranfield Church of England Academy, Central Bedfordshire Council will add your child’s name on the waiting list for the academic year. Waiting lists are prioritised according to the admission criteria for the Academy, not in date order of when applications are received. Your child’s position on the waiting list could therefore change (move up or down) if other children are added or removed.

Following the national offer day – If a place cannot be allocated at Cranfield Church of England Academy, your child will be automatically added to the waiting list. If a place becomes available at your preferred school during the late allocation it will be allocated to your child and your original offer will be withdrawn and reallocated to another child if necessary.

If you have been declined a place at Cranfield Church of England Academy, you have the right of appeal to an independent Admissions Appeal Panel. For information on how to appeal, click here and view page 26 onwards. We ask that where parents wish to appeal, they speak to the school first so that they can understand the reason a space has been declined, and the financial implications for the school of any appeals.

If you have not been offered a place at any of your preferred schools and live in Central Bedfordshire, the authority have a duty to provide a school place for your child. This would usually be your catchment school if there are places remaining after the allocation or the next nearest Central Bedfordshire school with places available appropriate to your child’s age range, which is closest to your home address.
